llms.txt: what it is for and what not to promise

An honest take on llms.txt in AISO: agent site map vs GEO citation myths. Q2 2026.

llms.txt: what it is for and what not to promise
Contents

In brief

llms.txt is a plain-text site index for AI agents. We ship it in our AISO stack but do not sell it as a guarantee of ChatGPT citations — public sources do not prove that effect.

Context

The file lives at /llms.txt and lists sitemap, blog, services, locales. On stuzhuk.page it is generated dynamically (llms.txt.ts).

Why it matters

Confusion: “we added llms.txt → GEO grew.” In practice SEO baseline (index, SSR, schema) matters more. llms.txt is agent ergonomics and documentation.

In practice

On stuzhuk.page:

  • links to sitemap, blog, SEO / AEO / GEO service, tag hubs;
  • note “SSR HTML with full article text”;
  • plus GPTBot Allow in robots.txt (separate post).

We do not promise SoV lift from the file alone.

Takeaway

Ship llms.txt as AISO hygiene. Measure outcomes via GEO monitoring and organic traffic, not file presence alone.
